It seems I do things in cycles...dA is no exception. After a few months hiatus I am back. I have some new photos to submit and the news [if anyone still reads this] that I finally got a REAL DSLR! My husband was kind enough to loan me the use of part of our tax refund so I could buy a D70S off ebay. After some issues with the sensor, sending it away to Nikon to be fixed, and harassing the seller for compensation, I have my baby back! I tell you, angels sang when I pressed that shutter release and now I'm addicted. I took a walk with it and got some decent pictures, nothing groundbreaking in the world of photography but it was a nice exercise for me in the use of REAL lenses. My CP 8800 was a learning tool but now it must be cast aside [might give it to my sister] to make room.

In related news, my model Pleiades, graduated from grad school and moved out of state in May so I'm bereft of subjects willing to sit/stand/contort in front of the lens. Nudity definitely not required, I'm looking to broaden my horizons and get experience with as many types of photography as I can...know anyone that might be interested? It'd also be helpful if they live in Iowa

I've also decided that I don't have enough things waiting to get done, so I've started making dice bags to sell at our local comic book/related geekery shop. We're friends with the owner and I am trying to get a variety of bags made to show him so he can decide if they'll sell and if so, for how much. I've taken photos of the first few I've finished [honestly, I'll take a picture of anything right now just to have an excuse to use the camera!] and should be posting them soon. Message me if you'd like to buy one! I'll even take color suggestions for commissions! lol, I may be getting in over my head but at least it's fun on the way down
